About Stuart our principal surveyor

Stuart Campbell was born into a boating family, where boats played a major role in his upbringing. With nearly every member of his extended family owning a boat, Stuart spent much of his early years in boatyards such as Sandwich Marina, observing Derek Kelsall build massive trimarans or visiting Zygal Boats in Whitstable Harbour, where his father worked spraying damaged yachts. After leaving school, Stuart joined his father, working on boat repairs, engine installations, and various other boat-related tasks.

At 18, Stuart purchased his first boat, a Limbo 6.6, and devoted every spare minute to sailing.

Now in his 50s, Stuart has spent four decades repairing, maintaining, and cruising numerous yachts. His extensive background in boat repairs, coupled with experience in engineering and compliance, has facilitated a seamless transition into yacht and small craft surveying.

Stuart is Gas Safe Registered for working on gas systems on boats and holds the City and Guilds 2391 certification for testing electrical systems.

In his free time, you can find Stuart sailing his Hunter 410, "Clara."
